NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 9, 2017) – The book commemorating New Orleans’ tricentennial and edited by a Dillard University English assistant professor is being released today, with a book launch party set for next Monday.
The party to launch “New Orleans and the World: 1718-2018 Tricentennial Anthology,” edited by Dr. Nancy Dixon, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the World War II Museum.
The book is being published by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities in partnership with the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corp. and the 2018 NOLA Commission.
A feature in Louisiana Cultural Vistas, the endowment’s magazine, described the book as an exploration of “the city’s first three centuries through the eyes of its finest historians,” with forewords including one from noted restauranteur Leah Chase.
