NEW ORLEANS (November 8, 2019) – More than $100,000 was raised and 3,000 people participated at the UNCF 5K Walk/Run for Education on Oct. 12 in Audubon Park Riverview, according to LaJuana Chenier, UNCF regional development director.
Adria Kimbrough, pre-law adviser for Dillard University’s Center for Law and Public Interest, won the Female Overall Division in the competition between DU and Xavier employees in the 5K, the equivalent of 3.1 miles stretching around Audubon Park. And Xavier University students top the top awards in the competition between the two school’s students.
Kimbrough also won as “female overall master” with a time of 28:4 (28 minutes, 4 seconds).
Xavier student Ahmud Wilson, 18, won the Male Overall Division in the student competition with a time of 18:31. The winner in the Female Overall Division for DU/Xavier students was Xavier student Taylor Price, 21, with a time of 23:15.
In the general public categories, the male with the fastest time was Trung Handy Jr., 18, at 17:50. The female was Price.
