The Dillard University Board of Trustees announced that Dr. Monique Guillory has been appointed as Dillard University’s new president as of Dec. 19th, 2024. This comes after Dr Ford’s unexpected leave on Jul. 1, 2024.
“Dr. Guillory, a native New Orleanian with over 30 years of administrative experience in higher education, emerged as a strong candidate due to her exceptional qualifications, and demonstrated leadership while serving in the interim role,” said the Board of Trustees.
In Dr. Guillory’s letter to the university, she thanked everyone for being kind and supportive towards her during this change.
“I cannot adequately articulate my gratitude for the outpouring of support and encouragement I have received following yesterday’s announcement from the Board of Trustees to appoint me as the ninth President of Dillard University,” she said.
