    100 Black Men chapter formed with 17 members

    Dillard University became thesecond university in the state, followingSouthern University, tohave a chapter of Collegiate 100Black Men when 17 members wereinducted in the fall.The chapter plans to boost itsmembership wiith spring inductions.Raphael T. Richard, a BatonRouge senior who chartered theorganization on campus and isnow its first president, identifiedthe two other charter members asDavid McBride, a Birmingham,Ala., senior; Marcel Harris, a seniorfrom northern California.The other 14 members of theorganization inducted on Sept.21 are D. Michael Jenkins, a NewOrleans senior who serves as treasurer;senior Ricky Ryan Lewisand sophomores Gerald Lee andBrandon Love, also all of New Orleans;sophomore Michael Kelley,Atlanta; senior Jason Alston, NewYork; sophomore Darius Miller,Chicago; junior Cory Falade, Dallas;sophomore Alan Carmel, St.Louis; sophomore Sherman Colemanand junior Joshua Mitchell,both of Houston; and junior RodneyGraham and sophomore IanLawrence, both of Los Angeles;and senior Michael McField, Carson,Calif. Nick Harris, assistantvice president of business services,is chapter adviser.To become a member of “The100,” you must have a 2.5 GPAwith at least 12 credit hours fromDillard, high moral standards andleadership potential, Richard said.
